Front-end construction waste strategies to serve as best practices to minimize waste generated by construction projects was the methodology selected for detailed research. The text also covers the primary sources of construction waste. The book is ideal for civil and construction engineers as well as project developers; managers and public sector waste management specialists.
Peter G. Rundle is a chartered professional civil engineer. Mr Rundle has held roles as engineering manager, construction manager, project manager, project director and company director, in the development and execution of major engineering projects, on 12 long term assignments in 10 countries. He holds an MBA, MSc.(Research) and a DCE. Mr Rundle is undertaking a PhD in 2019 to develop this research. He was a 2017 finalist for SCU Alumnus of the Year and earned a High Distinction average for his MBA, topping all students in three postgraduate units. In 2016, he attended London School of Economics in the UK and studied a summer school unit of Macroeconomics. He has been engaged on a broad range of projects, varying from a site manager on a US$2 billion dollar nickel mine construction project, to engineering manager for a port project in the South Pacific. Mr. Rundle spent the early part of his career as a bridge engineer, working in such locations as Papua New Guinea and Saudi Arabia. He has recently been Chief Operating Officer for the largest division of a global engineering company with over 2,000 personnel reporting to him. He received his PhD from Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia. During the past twenty years, Dr. Bahadori has held various process and petro
Shines a light on the extremely important topic of the global construction’s use raw materials and generation of waste
Fills a void the academic literature on the critical need to embrace front-end strategies to reduce waste on construction projects along with recovery, re-use, and recycling
Evaluates each of the solutions presented and their means of implementation
Encourages readership beyond the book’s core audiences of engineers and site managers to government, environmental groups, and the larger community
Points to other areas of future practical research in construction waste management
