Professor Prati Pal Singh, Ph. D., a renowned educationalist, microbiologist, biotechnologist and neuroimmunopharmacologist, has made important contributions to the treatment of malaria, tuberculosis, leishmaniasis and amoebiasis; he conceptualized/reported opiates as a new class of drugs. He has over 250 publications including in Nature Medicine, books and international patents, and has supervised over 37 Ph. D./M. S. students. Prof. Singh is on Editorial Board of Journal of Neuroimmune Pharmacology, USA and has been the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Parasitic Diseases. Prof. Singh has been elected F. N. A. Sc., and F. A. M. I., and awarded The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Global Health Award and Tulasbai Somani Award. Prof. Singh is internationally recognized, has been a co-investigator in an Indo-EU project on tuberculosis, and has traveled widely abroad for lectures/meetings. He has been Member/Chairman of committees of ICMR and other organizations.

Professor V. P. Sharma, D. Phil., D. Sc, is the Founder Director of the National Institute of Malaria Research, India. He is Fellow of three science and medical academies of India and the third world academy of sciences. He has 40 years of research experience in vector biology and malaria and has published 400 scientific papers, books, video programmes etc. He has held the esteemed office of the President, The National Academy of Sciences, India. He has served International Organizations and currently he is advisor to WHO on malaria. He is the recipient of various prestigious awards of which few are: Padma Shree, WHO Darling Foundation prize, ICMR’s BR Ambedkar and MOT Iyanger, Ranbaxy, FICCI, Green Scientist, OP Bhasin and Vasvik awards. Dr. Sharma is Meghnad Saha Distinguished Fellow of NASI at CRDT, Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi.
