Index 383

How is QuarkXPress faring in the market: QuarkXPress was once the dominant software in the design world. The emergence of Adobe InDesign and the pairing of it with other Adobe tools in their Creative Suite cut into Quark’s market share. Some estimates say Quark now holds about 25% of the overall market. Recent years have seen Quark recoup part of their market as Adobe switched to a subscription model that some users did not follow.

Who are we targeting: As the only widely–distributed QuarkXPress book on the market, this book serves both the new and experienced user markets. New users will find standard step–by–step instructions on using the tools built into QuarkXPress to aid in designing and outputting visual product. Experienced users can turn to the guide as a reference on the changes to the product and quick way to answer questions when they get lost.

Jay J. Nelson is a renowned expert on QuarkXPress, founder of PlanetQuark.com, author of multiple training videos, and QuarkXPress reviewer for Macworld and PC World.
