New Governance and the European Employment Strategy Routledge Research in EU Law Series

In recent years new or experimental approaches to governance in the EU, namely the Open Method of Coordination (OMC), have attracted great interest and controversy. This book examines the European Employment Strategy (EES) and its implementation through the OMC, exploring the promises and limitations of the EES for EU social law and policy and for the safeguard of social rights. Dr Samantha Velluti is Senior Lecturer in Law at Lincoln Law School. She has researched extensively in the area of EU governance and constitutionalism and the Open Method of Co-ordination in the context of employment, gender equality and migration. Her current research focuses on the relationship between New Governance and EU constitutionalism and law, gender mainstreaming, gender equality and migration. Recent publications include: Gender and the Open Method of Coordination.
