Understanding Lignocellulose Synergistic Computational and Analytic Methods ACS Symposium Series
Langue : Anglais
Coordonnateur : Smith Micholas Dean
Lignocellulosic biomass is an abundant material, but fundamental questions remain about the microscopic origins of its properties. Recent multidisciplinary work has led to major advances in our understanding of connections between the structure of biomass and its mechanical properties and natural recalcitrance to chemical conversion. This volume highlights how traditional and cutting-edge methods can be combined to obtain both fundamental insights and pathways to renewable bioproducts.
Micholas Dean Smith (Ph.D., Drexel University) is currently a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville within the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology. He is also a current member of the UT/ORNLCenter for Molecular Biophysics. Dr. Smith has worked on projects ranging from modeling lignocellulosic biomass pretreatments and lignin-basedmaterials to protein folding and drug discovery. He has been an ACS member for seven years and is also a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
