Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) offers a multitude of insights into cardiovascular diseases by providing information on morphology, function, tissue characterization, and blood flow. The clinical uses of CMR have expanded rapidly, with evidence of applicability for all types of cardiovascular disease. CMR remains a technically complicated imaging modality, however, with extensive experience limited to a small number of referral centres.
