Extra-intestinal Applications of Fecal Microbiota Transplantation: Volume 2: Future directions and applications in neuropsychiatric, infectious, and cardiovascular diseases provides real world applications of Fecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT) in various neuropsychiatric, infectious, and cardiovascular pathologies. The content provides a comprehensive view of FMT beyond intestinal pathologies including content on extra-intestinal applications of FMT including lesser-known concepts of gut brain axis and the heart gut axis. Content coverage also includes a comparison of regulatory guidelines for FMT in various countries and various routes of administration of FMT with advantages and limitations.

This is the perfect reference for researchers involved in work on bacteriotherapeutics as it provides a comprehensive view of the extra-intestinal applications of FMT while discussing the lesser known concepts of the gut axis; as well as practicing gastroenterologists and hepatologists who will learn the use of FMT in various non-intestinal diseases along with the preferred routes for different applications, regulatory requirements of FMT in different countries and safer, convenient and more attractive emerging options.

Application of FMT in neuropsychiatric diseases 1. FMT in Parkinson’s disease 2. FMT in Alzheimer’s disease 3. FMT in multiple sclerosis (MS) 4. FMT in epilepsy 5. FMT in Tourette Syndrome (TS) 6. FMT in chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) 7. FMT in Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) 8. FMT in stroke 9. FMT in autism spectrum disorder 10. FMT in depression and anxiety 11. FMT in bipolar disorder, schizophrenia 12. FMT in addiction 13. FMT in vaginosis Application of FMT in cardiovascular diseases 14. FMT in hypertension 15.
