Carlos Rocha Gomes Torres is a specialist in operative dentistry who is currently a professor on the undergraduate and graduate programs in Operative Dentistry at the Institute of Science and Technology, São Paulo State University - UNESP, Brazil. After qualifying as a dentist he gained his PhD in Operative Dentistry from the Institute of Science and Technology, UNESP, and then undertook postdoctoral research at the University of Zurich in Switzerland. He subsequently completed his Habilitation in Operative Dentistry and was appointed Associate Professor of Operative Dentistry, Occlusion, and Dental Sculpture in the Institute of Science and Technology at UNESP. Dr. Torres holds proficiency certification in Laser Dentistry (CFO, Brazil). He has been the lead or co-author of more than 200 articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as the editor of two books.
