Genetic algorithms in aeronautics and turbomachinery

The contents of the book are based on the VKI (von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics - the premier international fluid dynamics research and postgraduate teaching centre) course held by the editor and the contributors in May 2000, the aim of which was to review advanced evolutionary design and control methods in the aeronautical and turbomachinery industries by introducing new intertwined computer science and engineering tools well suited to distributed parallel computers.
