Dan Necsulescu is currently a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ottawa. He received the B.S. degree in power engineering and the Ph.D. degree in engineering from University Politehnica, Bucharest, Romania and the Licentiate in Philosophy degree from the University of Bucharest. His research interests and contributions are in dynamics and control, mechatronics, robotics, and optomechanics. He has over 45 journal publications and numerous presentations to his credit, and has co-authored an, applied virtual instrumentation book, published by WIT Press in 2000.
- Thorough coverage of all important topics in mechatronics, not simply generic or descriptive aspects, gives teachers and students ample material.
- Innovative organization and approach - Begins with fundamentals and physical principles of instruments, actuators, devices, hardware and software and follows with a systematic treatment of all signal and power conversion, data acquisition and analysis topics and concludes with an examination of the issues in mechatronic systems design.
- Detailed presentation of MATLAB, Simulink and LabVIEW examples, provides numerical examples and computer simulations to help students to learn basic concepts.
- Balanced treatment of the various mechanical, electrical and computer engineering topics of mechatronics, provides students with a w
